In this paper, starting from the sensor, the intelligent technology of CNC machine tools is divided according to the level of intelligent sensor, intelligent function, intelligent components and intelligent system, summarizes the intelligent technology pointed out the insufficiency, reveals the direction of development, and look forward to the future. Intelligent sensor is a CNC machine tool manufacturing system consisting of machine tools, cutting tools and workpieces. In the process of machining, with the removal of materials, there are many complicated physical phenomena, which imply rich information. In this dynamic, nonlinear, time-varying and non deterministic environment, the perception technology of CNC machine tools is the basic condition for intelligent implementation.
To realize the intelligence of NC machine tools, all kinds of sensors are needed to collect the external environment and internal state information, and to approximate the function of human perception of environmental changes, as shown in table 1. For people, the eyes are the most important sense organs of the five senses. They can get more than 90% of the environmental information. But the application of visual sensors in CNC machine tools is still relatively small. With the development of automation and intelligence, visual function will play more and more important role in CNC machine tools.
