Why You Should Absolutely Take That Vacation Soon
Forget the actual hassle of planning a trip or booking a flight—it seems nowadays, the roadblock to booking a vacation is allowing yourself to let your work go for long enough to take that time off that you deserve. In fact, a new survey estimates U.S. businesses currently hold around a whopping $224 billion dollars of unpaid days off in balance, simply because employees won’t. stop. working. That said, some companies have found creative solutions to entice their workers to take a break.
Take the folks at Motley Fool, a financial services company, who randomly select (and mandate) employees to take two full weeks off every month. Workers from Richard Branson’s Virgin Group along with media-giant Netflix both grant their staffers an unlimited number of vacation days, on the “honor system” that you won’t abuse and overuse that time off.
