Sand casting can also be called sand casting, which is a metal casting process using sand as a modeling material. Generally referred to as the cast factory specializing in sand casting. In China or worldwide, casting of sand production accounts for more than 80%of various casting production castings.
Sand casting
The sand used in sand casting is relatively cheap and has enough fire resistance, and even uses it in cast steel. In addition to sand, proper bonding (usually clay) is usually mixed or appeared in sand. Usually add water to sand, but sometimes other substances are added to change the strength and plasticity of the clay to produce a suitable polymerization. Sand is usually contained in a frame system or using a mold box, namely a sandbox. The cast cavity is carved on the sand by compressed the sand around the model, or it is carved directly on the sand.
The entire casting process is basically divided into 6 steps:
Place the plate to make a model.
Contains the type and sand in the pouring system.
Remove board.
Fill in the cavity with melted metals.
Cool the metal.
Broken sand and removing the casting.
main component
The sandbox & lower sand box (half of the sand types on the top and bottom), the core is placed in the sandbox
Starting from the design, an engineer or designer, or a skilled board maker produced a board for production products, they may use wood, metal or plastic and even foamyerene. Sand can be polished, cleaned or scraped out. Due to the contraction of metal when coagulation, uneven cooling may also cause uniform contraction. Therefore, the type board must be slightly larger than the final finished size, which is both a contraction. The manufacturer of the board can use the "shrinkage" (sometimes called the "shrinkage ruler", and it will make the appropriate plate when the size will be increased according to the percentage amplification of the required percentage). Different proportion of shrinkage is used in different metals, because the overall shrinkage rate of each metal and alloy is different.
Advantages of sand casting
The mold cost is relatively low
Sand flip is suitable for medium and low -volume production
In the short term, you can quickly produce a small batch of the same product
Sanding molds can be large or small.
Diverse products, high production elasticity
Mechanized or artificial production can
