Aluminum alloy die casting is conducive to lightweight of automobiles

The trend of substituting aluminium for steel in the automotive industry over the past 30 years has continued, along with increasing emphasis on energy efficiency and environmental protection. 

(1) Automotive lightweight development trend
The so-called lightweight vehicle, is to ensure the strength and safety function of the vehicle on the premise of reducing the vehicle mass as far as possible, and then improve the vehicle power performance, reduce fuel consumption, reduce emissions of pollution.  For the lightweight of the vehicle, different parts have different degrees of dedication.  The lightweight of the body, interior and exterior decoration and power system is of great significance to reduce the energy consumption in the process of the vehicle.  Aluminum alloy material has the characteristics of light weight, good function and simple molding.

 
Reducing the component of the car can reduce the engine load, improve the vehicle's traveling function, effectively shorten the braking distance, make the steering and tortuous process more active, and then make the car more stable.  Aluminum alloy structure can absorb and loose more impact energy, therefore more comfortable and safer.  As a result, over the next decade, the penetration rate of aluminum into all major automotive components will increase significantly. 

(2) Demand for metal die castings driven by downstream new energy vehicles
The deployment of new energy vehicles will further promote the demand for metal die casting.  One of the main problems of new energy vehicles is the short journey, lightweight design has become the main way to reduce the weight and consumption of new energy vehicles.  A 70-litre petrol car can travel up to 700km, while an electric car carrying a 500kg battery can travel only about 400km.  Therefore, adding the share of aluminum alloy die casting is the main way to reduce the weight of new energy vehicles.
