POM Performance

POM is a surface smooth, shiny, hard and dense material , yellow or white , thin-walled translucent part . Combustion characteristics for easy burning from the fire continued to burn after the flame yellow top , blue bottom , dripping melted , irritating smell of formaldehyde , fish stench . Polyoxymethylene as a white powder , generally opaque , good color , the proportion of 1.41-1.43 g / cc , mold shrinkage from 1.2 to 3.0 % , the molding temperature of 170-200 ℃, drying conditions 80-90 ℃ 2 hours.Long-term heat resistance of POM is not high, but the short-term can reach 160 ℃, which are short-term heat resistance than polyethylene POM POM copolymer high above 10 ℃, but the long-term heat than homo- copolymer POM POM high but about 10 ℃. Long-term use in the temperature range of -40 ℃ ~ 100 ℃ . POM easy to decompose , the decomposition temperature is 240 degrees , the decomposition irritating and corrosive gases occurs . It should use steel mold corrosion resistance materials.
