Golden State Warriors guard Stephen Curry became the NBA's first unanimous Most Valuable Player on Tuesday, winning the award for a second straight season.

Curry, 28, swept all 131 first-place votes. San Antonio Spurs forward Kawhi Leonard was second in the voting, followed by Cleveland Cavaliers forward LeBron James.
Curry also became the 11th player to win back-to-back MVP awards in NBA history. He led the Warriors to a historic 73-9 record by eclipsing the 1995-96 Chicago Bulls' 72-10 record as the winningest single season in NBA history.

He led the league in scoring by 30.1 per game, three-pointers made (an NBA-record 402), free throw percentage (90.8) and steals (2.14 spg), along with averaging 6.7 assists and a career-high 5.4 rebounds in 79 games.

"I never really set out to change the game. I never thought that would happen in my career," Curry said Tuesday as he accepted the trophy during a news conference in Oakland. "What I wanted to do was be myself. I know it inspires the next generation. You can work every day to get better."
